Nationalist MP Beppe Fenech Adami has confirmed that he will be contesting the post of PN deputy leader.

“After much deliberation, particularly with my family, I have decided to contest,” Dr Fenech Adami said when contacted. He said he had considered the top post but felt that in the current circumstances, it would be more beneficial for the party if he contributed in the deputy leader post..

Dr Fenech Adami, an MP since 2008, is the second to openly declare his intention to contest the post of deputy leader following political newcomer Claudette Buttigieg.

Sources close to the PN said other possible contenders are Jason Azzopardi and Joe Cassar.
