The National Council of Women and Malta Confederation of Women’s Organisations welcomed the election of three female MEPs, which led to a 50 per cent female representation at the European Parliament.

The NCW said its representation in the EP would enhance Malta’s development in female participation in EU politics.

The MCWO said the achievement of MEPs Marlene Mizzi, Claudette Abela Baldacchino and Roberta Metsola was a milestone for the advancement of women in the political arena.

It added Malta placed second overall after Finland with top female representation.
