• A concert of sacred music by the St Paul Choral Society with guest soprano Virgina Kerr will be held on Saturday from 7.30pm to approximately 8.30pm at St Patrick’s church, Sliema, in support of the St Patrick’s Boys School and Magnificat (Malta) Chapter. Parking is available in St Patrick’s grounds. Attendance is free but donations will be appreciated.
• The Association of Lyceum Past Students (ALPS) will be celebrating its 19th foundation day with a two-act comedy play by Luigi Pirandello, Il berretto a sonagli, translated into Maltese by Victor Apap, next Sunday at 7pm at the Manoel Theatre. Participating cast will include Monica Attard, Paul Vella, Rita Camilleri, Ronald Briffa, Rina Camilleri, Holger Saliba, Amanda Cachia and Cheryl Camilleri.

• A biblical course on the Book of the Apocalypse will be conducted by Fr Martin Cilia, MSSP, at the Birkirkara Oratory, run by the Missionary Society of St Paul, on May 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 7.15 to 9pm.
• Blanche Martin welcomes her friends and friends of the Little Sisters of the Poor to a fundraising celebration being held on May 8 from 10am at the Preluna Hotel, Sliema. Phone 2133 0387.
• A sale of antique furniture will be held from May 8 to 12 at St Helen’s parish centre, Birkirkara (entry through Sanctuary Street), from 9am to noon and 5 to 7.30pm and on Sunday from 9am to noon.
• The family sub-committee of Żejtun local council will be organising a weekend break at the Seabank Hotel, Mellieħa, from May 10 to 12. For more information, contact the council offices. • Caritas Co-Operators will be holding a day on May 15 at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julian’s. The day will start at 10.30am with coffee and tea, followed by a talk by Bernard Grech at 11am, Mass at noon and lunch at 1pm. Cards may be played in the afternoon. There will be free parking underground.
