The Nasch Restaurant at the Hilton Vienna Plaza last week hosted a Malta Culinary Week – an initiative of the Maltese Embassy in Vienna.

The event was launched during a dinner hosted by Maltese Ambassador Colin Scicluna and his wife Annelies.

The chef for the evening was Marvin Gauci, who travelled to Austria especially for the occasion. Attending the dinner were ambassadors from the UK, Italy, Korea, the US, France, Egypt, Germany and South Africa.

The guests were treated to a mixture of traditional and innovative food. The central theme was a typical Maltese fenkata, accompanied by Maltese wines.

During Culinary Week, the restaurant served Maltese food in the form of tapas created by Gauci and produced by the Nasch kitchen staff.

Maltese specialities included bigilla, ġbejniet, tadam mimli, braġjoli, timpana and rabbit dishes.

Vienna International Airport, the Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta were also supportive in making this event possible.
