Two specialists from Bonhams, the international fine art auction house, will be in Malta for a valuation day at the Phoenicia Hotel on May 13.
Bonhams has had some notable success sourcing material from Malta, or indeed, Maltese art which has sold well in London.
The company is now broadening its search for art and artifacts to include fine jewellery of every type.
The visiting specialists, Sabrina O’Cock from Jewellery and the company’s representative from Rome, Emma Dalla Libera, hope people will use the visit to have their gems and other valued items assessed by the team.
A few years ago, a wonderful picture album painted in 1875 by the Maltese Count Amadeo Preziosi (1816-1882) on his grand tour of Europe, sold for an astonishing £378,400 at a Bonhams Travel and Topographical sale in London.
Bonhams specialists are now coming in search of jewellery hoping for another significant find.
