Former Prime Minister and Labour Leader Alfred Sant this morning launched his new book George Bush f’Malta.

The novel, in the Maltese language, is Dr Sant’s 20th publication, mostly other novels.

At the launch, actors interpreted excerpts of the book which is about the visit by George W Bush to Malta and a private investigator who was here prior to his arrival to investigate a planned terrorist attack on his life while he was here.

Dr Sant told timesofmalta.com that it took him a year to write the 325-page novel which was a comic aspect apart from the thriller aspect. He said he was superstitious and would not reveal other work he had in the pipeline.

Over the years, Dr Sant was extensively involved in journalism, literature and the theatre.

He edited various magazines and was the Economist Intelligence Unit’s correspondent for Malta. Between 1986 and 1992 he was correspondent for The European Review.
