A pictorial account of the Maltese islands’ cultural legacy will be given in a compendium of 20 books by the Salesians of Don Bosco.
Aptly named The Cultural Legacy of Malta & Gozo, the new series of books will deal with different subjects: the village feast; the Neolithic temples; Mdina; churches and cathedrals; Gozo; the Knights of St John; traditions; monasteries; the Three Cities; aerial views; harbours; below ground; forts and defences; sacred places; the countryside; museums and exhibitions; palaces, food and delicacies; Valletta and the coastline.
The Cultural Legacy of Malta & Gozo was overseen by well-established Salesian editor Fr Charles Cini SDB and award-winning photographer Daniel Cilia worked on the series, assisted by expert history author Vincent Zammit.
The 3,000-word essay in each book and picture captions are aimed at guiding the reader through a journey of discovery round the Maltese islands and its people.
Each 144-page book, which will be released every season, will include more than 200 colour photos.
