Colette Sultana won all her matches in Luxembourg to win the Junior Open that was held over the past weekend.

Sultana easily won her first three matches against Henora Lanieu (France) and Luxembourg duo Pauline Gamero and Jess Reedy. Her final match was against Dutch girl Suzanne Peters who had also won all her first matches.

But Sultana was in excellent form and overpowered Peters without dropping a game.

This was the first U-19 tournament won by Sultana in the European circuit after winning various tournaments in younger age groups.

Earlier this month, the 17-year-old won the Malta Open. Recently, she also received confirmation of her place at the Columbia University in the US where she will be reading for a bachelor’s degree while having the opportunity to continue to improve her squash.

Sultana is already combining academic studies with squash training at Millfield School in England. She is supported by the Malta Sports Council and the Maltese Olympic Committee.

Sultana is sponsored by Harrow Sports.
