Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has left Malta for Paris where he will be meeting French President François Hollande at the Elysée Palace tomorrow.

The meeting is being held in the shadow of demonstrations against Mr Hollande’s divisive gay marriage Bill, which is being put to a final vote in Parliament today.

Dr Muscat, who will be accompanied by his deputy Louis Grech and Foreign Affairs Minister George Vella, will tonight also be attending an exclusive concert by one of the world’s top operatic voices, Joseph Calleja.

The concert, Joseph Calleja: La Grande Voix de Malte, is being staged at the Cathedral of Saint Louis des Invalides for 600 guests and is organised by the Maltese Embassy.
