PwC is to acquire IT training and support firm Key IT Group Ltd, the audit, accounting and advisory firm said yesterday.

Key IT training will partner PwC’s Academy and allow the range of topics on offer to grow at PwC’s new training facilities in Qormi.

Key IT Services and PwC have been providing outsourced IT services for many years – the combined team will make it easier to develop and deploy solutions and to support clients more efficiently and flexibly, PwC said.

“The services offered by Key IT Group complement services that we have been offering as PwC for some time,” PwC territory senior partner Kevin Valenzia explained.

“This transaction strengthens our service offering and allows us to deliver additional value to our clients in these areas. This move to join forces will not result in any disruption to these services. As we go forward, we will be introducing improvements to strengthen our services. We will also see our staff enjoy greater opportunities in an exciting, growing business as a result of this combination.”

The Key IT Group board will now include group co-founders Marcel Cutajar and Steve Casaletto, as well as Lino Casapinta, George Sammut and Gordon Micallef from PwC. George Sammut will chair the board.

“PwC is perfect for us,” Marcel Cutajar and Steve Casaletto said. “They have access to thought leadership from around the world. PwC will help us keep pace with the rapidly evolving IT sector to bring to our clients the latest technology and the best operating practices.”
