Opposition leader Lawrence Gonzi said this morning that the PN was looking forward to the MEP elections next year and the party has started its preparations.

Speaking during a meeting with the president of the EPP group, Joseph Daul in the European Parliament, Dr Gonzi said he wished to assure the EPP that despite the changes in the PN line-up in Brussels with the replacement of Simon Busuttil the PN will continue to strengthen its ties with the group.

Mr Daul told Dr Gonzi that he was saddened by the fact that the EPP would not continue to benefit from 'the excellent services' of Dr Busuttil. However he said that he was sure that Dr Busuttil would be giving a sterling service for the future of the PN and Malta.
