Acclaimed scholar Robert Dauber will be giving a free talk tomorrow titled Carracks In General and Especially Those of the Hospitallers of Rhodes and of Malta.

Prof. Dauber’s talk, which is open to the public, will be followed by a presentation by Joseph Abela, the keeper of models at the Malta Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa.

Last year, he began working on a model of the Sant’Anna, a grand carrack the Hospitallers used during the first years of the Order in Malta.

It was the largest warship built specifically for the Navy of the Order of St John in Nice in 1522.

Organised by Heritage Malta, with the Friends of the Maritime Museum, the talk will be held at 10.30am at the Malta Maritime Museum.
