Broadcasting Authority chairman Anthony J. Tabone has an annual honorarium of €19,708.83. His other benefits include a fixed telephone line, a cellular line, cable TV service and a health insurance cover for him and Mrs Tabone.

The information was given by Ministry for Home Affairs and National Security Minister Emanuel Mallia in reply to a parliamentary question by Labour MP Chris Agius.

The members of the authority – Alfred Mallia Milanes, Reno Borg, Peter Fenech and Rose Sciberras – receive an honorarium of €10,512.46, cable TV service, the provision of a TV set and DVD player, and a health insurance cover for the member and his or her spouse.

Other Cabinet ministers gave details of the emoluments of other board members in replies to questions by Mr Agius.

Transport Minister Joe Mizzi said that as at last February, the Building Industry Consultative Council did not have a board of directors but only architect Ċensu Galea as chairman. His salary was €29,101 according to the contract he had signed on June 21, 2010.

Economy Minister Chris Cardona said that the chairman of the Co-operatives Board, Wilfred Kenely, receives a remuneration of €4,658.75 and an allowance of €815 for mobile telephone services. The three members of the board, Tony Muscat, Carmen Dalli and Antoine Portelli, receive €1,165 annually.

Employment Minister Evarist Bartolo said that Sandra Sladden, who chairs the Employment and Training Corporation, receives a total annual remuneration of €1,269.51, re-imbursement of expenses up to €258.85, a corporation vehicle with driver and other ancillary services. Members Marvic Attard, Greta Bugeja, Philo Meli and Charlotte Camilleri receive an annual sum of €232.94 each; Alfred Bezzina has €757; Louis Cuschieri €1,805.24; Gozitan George Galea €1,316.08 together with re-imbursement of travel expenses up to €159.75; James Persall €1,735.36 and Gejtu Tanti €460. All members have an option for residential ADSL.

Minister Barolo also gave details of the honoraria received by the Kunsill Malti għall-Isports for 2012. Chairman Bernard Vassallo received €13,976.28 and re-imbursement of mobile telephony and fuel expenses. Deputy chairman Bartholomeo Muscat, and members Louis Borg, Maria Mifsud Bonnici, Kenneth Vella, Margaret Mercieca, Vanessa Aquilina, Joseph Cassar and Joe Caruana Curran received €2,329.32.

Finance Minister Edward Scicluna said the Board of the Central Bank is composed of Governor Josef Bonnici (chairman), Alfred DeMarco (deputy governor), Victor Busuttil, Antoinette Caruana and Philomena Meli (all non-executive directors). Prof. Scicluna said that the emoluments had not changed. Information given in Parliament in 2011 revealed that Prof. Bonnici has a salary of €85,000, the use of an official car, smart phone services and a health insurance cover.
