Members of the Alberta team have planted trees at Ta’ Qali National Park as part of the 34U campaign led by the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs.

The tree-planting was part of Alberta’s ISO 14001:2004 (environmental management system) initiatives and efforts. The company has committed to this annual gesture to compensate for part of the environmental impact of gas and particulates emissions from aircraft during its team’s business travel.

This year, the team has taken an even larger commitment and has incorporated the impact of road travel into the equation: one tree for every 2,000 litres of vehicle fuel consumed will be planted to compensate for a part of the carbon emissions from Alberta’s fleet.

Alberta has been awarded the ISO 14001:2004 environmental certification for three years, in addition to its ISO 9001:2008 (quality management system) certification which has just been reawarded. As a group, Alberta is at the forefront of the renewable energy market with a wide range of products for a range of requirements.

The company implements various internal measures to reduce its overall environmental impact and aims to launch a paperless campaign at its head office in Mrieħel.
