Some 20 Libyans presented a petition at their embassy in Balzan this morning, calling for the removal of Charge' d'Affairs Mohammed El-Ghirani.

The petition was signed by around 60 Libyans in Malta.

They claimed that during the uprising in their country, thousands of people fought for the removal of  Muammar Gaddafi.

However, 'Gaddafi's people', including the Charge' d'Affairs, were still around, they claimed.

But Dr El-Ghirani said the protesters were not respectable Libyans but trouble makers who expected the embassy to be a sort of employment agency that dished out jobs and money.

He laughed at their claim that he was a Gaddafi man and said that he had always worked for his country - never for Gaddafi.
