The former permanent secretary at the Health Ministry will now be its director general, with functions related to the development of staff skills, research and the development of the ministry’s administrative arm.

In reply to a PQ, Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia said the former permanent secretary was helping with the process of handing over to the new administration.

His new responsibilities have been agreed in talks aimed at avoiding duplication of work at the ministry and tapping his skills.
