Chinese rescuers have freed a six-year-old girl whose head was trapped between two narrow walls, and in a separate incident a man stuck inside a two-tonne bronze temple bell.

Official Chinese state television CCTV released footage that showed fire-fighters rescuing a six year-old from between two narrow walls.

CCTV reported that the child was playing with neighbourhood children on Sunday when her head got stuck and firefighters arrived at the scene to free her.

The broadcaster said for three hours fire-fighters tried various methods to free her. But it wasn't until fire-fighters drilled part of the wall away that they managed to pull her head out. She was taken to a local hospital for a check up.

On Monday  state television reported that a young man became trapped underneath a two-tonne (1814.37 kg) bronze bell, during a visit to a museum in eastern China.

While the man was looking at the bell from below, museum visitors above repeatedly spun the bell, causing the rope, that attached the bell to the ceiling to snap.

CCTV said that rescuers took a total of five minutes to lift the bell with the use of a pulley block. The man was reportedly unharmed.
