The George Cross Island Association (GCIA) will be organising a ceremony to mark the 71st anniversary of the George Cross at the Great Siege Bell, Valletta, tomorrow at 10.30am.

President George Abela, dignitaries from Malta’s allies during World War II and also a number of veterans who served in Malta during the war will attend.

This year’s event will take on added significance, given that it will be organised by the Malta Branch of the GCIA after an absence of a number of years.

Due to limited seating, the GCIA advises that the best vantage point would be from the Lower Barrakka gardens.
