Mdina came to life this weekend with the fifth Mdina Medieval Festival which showcased activities related to the era, from sword fights to falconry.

Medieval music, an illusionist, and parades filled the streets and museums were kept open. There were re-enactments by foreign and local groups, medieval music, a jester, lectures, concerts, food and drink, a market, a medieval kitchen and a children's zone.

A number of exhibitions were also held in chapels.
