Hibernians maintained their title march with a comfortable 3-0 win over neighbouring rivals Tarxien Rainbows at the National Stadium.

It was an impressive performance from the Paolites who were all over their opponents right from the outset with the Rainbows rarely created any danger to the Hibs defence. Hibs took control from the opening stages but they had to wait till the 40th minute to take the lead.

The black-and-white shirted players were awarded a free-kick which was taken by Cohen and his swerving cross found Rodolfo Soares who saw his header somehow blocked by Tarxien goalkeeper Nicky Vella. From the rebound, the Brazilian was on hand to bundle the ball home.

The Rainbows failed to recover from this setback and Hibs were further in front on 56 minutes when Andrew Cohen released the Luis Edison Tarabai who found little difficulty in hitting past Tarxien goalkeeper Vella.

Hibs wrapped up the points on 75 minutes when Clayton Failla showed great skill to released the advancing Tarabai who beat Vella from close in.

Hibs striker Luis Edison was voted as the BOV Player of the match.
