Alex Alden Photo: Christine Joan Muscat AzzopardiAlex Alden’s The Curious Child EP has been a long time coming. A year perhaps, maybe less, but for this young singer-songwriter, this moment has been in the making ever since she scribbled her first poems as a child.
Describing herself as “motivated and driven to create from a young age”, Alden first came to the public’s attention as a member of alternative country band Martin McNeil and the Dissidents, whose live gigs she would often open with her own solo set.
Further live gigs on her own – including a well-received debut appearance at last year’s Teatru Unplugged and the release of debut single Dancing Alone (and accompanying music video) have consolidated her reputation as a name to watch out for.

And now that the day has come for her debut EP to be released, Alden’s name is indeed one we’re likely to be hearing more of this year.
The Curious Child EP launch concert will start 8pm on Saturday at Teatru Salesjan in Sliema. The event is supported by the Malta Arts Fund and sponsored by Piscopo Gardens.
