The Sirens U-18 team have just taken part in the prestigious Lavagna Easter Tournament in Italy.

Sirens finished a creditable fourth, ahead of Chiavari and Vicenza, two of the leading teams in their domestic league.

Pro Recco won the tournament after a gruelling schedule that saw some of the teams, including Sirens, play five games in two days.

Goalkeeper Nicky Grixti was voted among the tournament’s best players.

“Participation in this tournament is part of the Sirens committee’s long-term plans to further strengthen its youth sector with a view to helping the young players make the grade for the senior side,” Sirens said in a statement.
