Nineteen renowned local artists are coming together to help put a smile on the faces of 15 boys who are currently living at St Joseph’s Home in Sta Venera.

The artists are donating their works of art to an online auction which is aiming at raising enough funds to make a dream come through for the 15 boys – a holiday abroad during their summer holidays.

The auction features works Andrew Borg, Arlette Zammit, Caroline Said Lawrence, Debbie Caruana Dingli, Ed Schembri, Gorg Mallia, James Vella Clark, Kenneth Zammit Tabone, Marie Louise Kold, Marika Borg, Marisa Attard, Mary Deguara, Nicole Casha, Rupert Cefai , and photographic artists Ronnie Muscat , Sergio Muscat, Carlo Muscat, Joe Zammit Lucia and Kurt Arrigo.

The fund raising initiative was launched during a special event at Farsons Direct Wine Shop, where all the works of art where exhibited and guests were treated to a wine tasting session featuring Australia’s largest wine brand Jacob’s Creek.

Mrs. Michelle Muscat also paid a surprise visit to the launch event and gave her full support to the initiative.

“These boys have had it tough all their lives,” explained Fr Frankie Cini, director at The St. Joseph’s Home.

“Some of them are of age and are about to leave the home to fend for themselves. Before they do, we want to give them an experience of a lifetime.  Even though going abroad might not seem like a basic need, in today’s day and age everyone should have the opportunity to experience travelling and the joys that it brings with it. In order to make this happen we need to raise about €600 per child.”

The exhibition will remain open at Farsons Direct until April 20 and bids can be pledged online at www.auctionforstjoseph.com until April 30.

Money donations for this cause can also be made by bank transfer in APS Bank Account No 20000358238 or via SMS on:
