I am aware that English is not the first language of either the Prime Minister or several of his ministers, which would explain why the meaning of the word cronyism appears to be above their heads.

No doubt, some intrepid and fearless reporters will translate it properly into Maltese for them.

While they are at it, they might also try explaining smoke and mirrors, nepotism and misdirection for them as well.

I would happily do the job myself but the only language I learned to speak is the truth.

If it’s any consolation to those mentioned above (it shouldn’t be), there are plenty of politicians and others too, worldwide, whose first language it is but they actually refuse to understand the concepts.
