Occasionally, driving to Valletta in the morning, I pass by the Marsa roundabout located next to the premises of Bank of Valletta. I notice tens of immigrants waiting there, presumably to be offered a day job or to meet their employer and start their day’s work.

It strikes me that as a society we have not bothered to provide any sort of seating facilities and shelter in the area, come wind, rain or sunshine.

I call upon whoever is responsible for such a matter (the local council, the Government, the planning authority?) and for the well-being of such individuals to take measures to provide proper seating and adequate shelter for these people.
