The Electoral Commission has received 34 nominations for the Nationalist Party casual elections taking place tomorrow.

The nominations were submitted by those candidates vying to fill the seats by MPs who were elected on both districts they contested.

The casual elections will be held at the counting hall in Naxxar at 8am.

These are the names:

Second district – seat vacated by Lawrence Gonzi:

Francis Agius and Stephen Spiteri.

Ninth district – seats vacated by Robert Arrigo and Simon Busuttil:

Joanna Agius, Kristy Debono, Joseph Falzon, Franco Galea, Karl Gouder, Noel Muscat, Marthese Portelli and Charles Selvaggi.

Tenth district – seat vacated by George Pullicino:

Joanna Agius, Joseph Falzon, Albert Fenech, Franco Galea, Karl Gouder, Noel Muscat, Charles Selvaggi and Evelyn Vella Brincat.

Eleventh district – seat vacated by Joseph Cassar:

Charlo Bonnici, Shirley Farrugia, Ian Mario Spiteri, Edwin Vassallo and John Zammit Montebello.

Twelfth district – seat vacated by Tonio Fenech:

Graziella Galea, Vincent (Ċensu) Galea and Ian Mario Spiteri.

Meanwhile, a casual election will be held at midday on Thursday to fill the seat vacated by councillor Anthony Brincat on the Floriana local council after he passed away.

The only nomination received was from Edward Torpiano.
