The triumphal Easter Sunday processions with the Risen Christ were enjoyed by many families this morning in a number of localities all over Malta and Gozo.

In most localities, the final part of the procession is actually a run and the statue very nearly crashed to the ground in Senglea this morning, when a runner fell.

Some parishes took the opportunity to organise a blessing ceremony for easter eggs and figolli.

In Qormi, a three-metre figolla was blessed and shared at noon in front of St Sebastian parish church.

The giant figolla was produced by Pinto Philharmonic Society in collaboration with the Qormi council and Maypole Ltd.
