• Easter Sunday manifestations with the statue of the Risen Christ will be held today at St George’s Basilica, Victoria, with the participation of La Stella Band at 8.45am; in Nadur with the participation of the Mnarja Band; at Kerċem, with the participation of St Gregory Band, at 9.15am; in Xaghra, with the participation of the Victory Band at 9.30am; and at the Cathedral, with the participation of the Leone Band, at 10.45am.
In the evening there will be other manifestations in Żebbuġ, with the participation of the Santa Marija Band at 5pm; in Fontana, with the participation of La Stella Band at 5.30pm; and in Qala, with the participation of Ite ad Joseph Band at 5.45pm.
• Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will celebrate Mass with the Cathedral Chapter and with the participation of the Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis at the Cathedral, Victoria, today at 6p.m.
• Easter Sunday Mass in English will be held at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Enrico Mizzi Street, Victoria, at 10am. The car park opposite the seminary will be available.
• Freedom Day will be celebrated today. Mgr Grech will celebrate Pontifical Mass at the Cathedral in Victoria at 6pm, followed by a concert by the Police Band at Independence Square, Victoria, at 7.30pm.
• A Puttinu Cares hair and beauty event is being held today. Participating salons will give a €1 donation to Puttinu Cares from every client.
• Rise of the Guardians will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm.
• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.
• A Mega Easter Egg Hunt, organised by the Għajnsielem council and Buzzy Kids Entertain Għajnsielem Playing Field, Pjazza tad-Dehra, Għajnsielem. There will be 3,000 chocolate eggs up for grabs and entertainment, including bouncy castles, a water park, zoom-around rides, cartoon characters, balloon modelling, face painting, crafts, football, a rodeo bull, rock climber and a fairy tent.
• An organ and choral recital by Thüringen Orgelsommer will be held at St George’s Basilica on Thursday at 7.30pm.
•The Gozo Sports Complex will start an eight-week fitness course on Wednesday in aerobics, Pilates, fitness and body tonification.
Sessions will be held every Wednesday and Friday from 7 to 8pm. Applications are open.
• The Gozitan Graduates Movement will hold First Friday Mass at St Augustine’s church, Victoria, at 8.30pm. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available before Mass.
• The annual general meeting of the Friends of the Sick and Elderly (Gozo) will be held at the Gozo Ministry, Victoria, on Friday at 7.15pm. The meeting will be preceded by Mass at St Francis church, Victoria, at 6.30pm.
• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be holding a prayer meeting at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Saturday at 7pm.
•The Diocesan Eucharistic Movement will be holding a prayer evening at Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Ta’ Ħamet) church on Saturday at 8.30pm, followed by Mass at midnight.
• The Dun Mikiel Attard Group will be holding a prayer meeting at Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Ta’ Ħamet) church on Thursday at 6.30pm.
