Five casual elections will be held on Thursday to fill seats vacated by Labour candidates who were elected from two districts in the general elections.

The Electoral Commission said it had received the following nominations:

First district - seat vacated by Louis Grech:  Joan Bland Mintoff, Luciano Busuttil, John Buttigieg and David Farrugia Sacco.

Second district - seat vacated by Joseph Muscat: Chris Agius, Joan Bland Mintoff, Rita Law, Adrian George Meli and Victor Sultana. 

Eighth district - seat vacated by Edward Scicluna: John Buttigieg, Joe Debono Grech, Clifford Galea and Marc Sant.

Tenth district - seat vacated by Manuel Mallia: Michael Falzon, Clifton Grima, Sigmund Mifsud, Joanne Vella Cuschieri and Nikita Zammit Alamango.

Twelfth district - seat vacated by Evarist Bartolo:  Clayton Bartolo, Clifford Galea. Alfred Grima, Deborah Schembri, Lorna Vassallo and Joanne Vella Cuschieri.

The casual elections for the seats vacated by PN candidates will be held on April 3.
