Thousands of people flocked to Haġar Qim and Mnajdra temples and the Domus Romana during the Open Day held by Heritage Malta on Tuesday, a public holiday.

3000 toured Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra, where they could enjoy lectures, a pottery session where visitors were invited to try the methods used during prehistoric times, a treasure hunt, various tours and a taste of food using ingredients available in prehistory.

The Domus Romana registered a record 2,100 visitors on the day. The visitors  had the opportunity of appreciating the intriguing mosaics, original Roman statues as well as the structure itself and numerous other artefacts which form part of the permanent display.
