Nature Trust this evening expressed concern at reports that burnt oil has been dumped over the Tal-Mara cliffs.

It said in a statement that, these cliffs, like most other rupestral habitats, hosted various indigenous and endemic plants species which included the Maltese Rock Centaury Widnet il-Bahar, Malta’s national plant.

The organisation appealed to the public to report any information regarding this oil spill to the police. It urged the police to investigate the matter and apprehend the culprits.
