Ta’ Frenċ Restaurant in Gozo is hosting an eight-course gourmet meal featuring food from the Piedmont region with matching Michele Chiarlo wines, finished off with a superb Grappa Berta, on April 13.
Michelin-star chef Maurilio Garola of La Ciau del Tornavento in Treiso, Piedmont, is teaming up with the kitchen brigade at Ta’ Frenċ, led by head chef Mario Schembri, to offer a memorable meal, with each course matched with an appropriate wine.
Garola, 54, has been running his restaurant – the name means the key to the returning wind – for the past 15 years, specialising in typical food of the region.
The Italian chef will be bringing with him various ingredients from the Italian region to further enhance the flavours of what should prove to be an outstanding evening.
Michele Chiarlo and Grappa Berta, two brands which will be represented by Alberto Chiarlo and Giovanni Bocchino respectively, will be offering a selection of wines from the northern Italian region of Piedmont.
Both brands will be provided by Attard & Co. (Foodstuffs) Ltd through its sub-agent in Gozo, Abraham’s Supplies Co. Ltd.
Black truffles and nuts from Piedmont together with a combination of meats, poultry and seafood will be featured. A signature dish on the menu will be ravioli served on a bed of hay.
