EPP boss backing Busuttil
Simon Busuttil
The European People’s Party group chairman has thrown his weight behind Simon Busuttil, saying he had “what it takes to return the Nationalist Party back to Government”.
Joseph Daul said he had no doubt in his mind that Dr Busuttil, with whom he had worked closely, is a “European statesman in the making”.
He sent his wishes to outgoing Nationalist Party leader Lawrence Gonzi, who, he said, “deserves our praise and admiration for his unstinting efforts to create jobs in Malta and this in an environment of fiscal restraint.”
The Commission forecasts suggest an economic growth of 1.5 per cent for Malta, which is the second highest growth forecast in the euro-zone, he said. With unemployment at six per cent and the deficit at 2.3 per cent of GDP, Mr Daul described Malta as a high-flyer.
“And this is largely thanks to Lawrence Gonzi’s work as Prime Minister.”

As if Simon Busuttil was not always here since his time at MIC!
He flaunted the fat that he wrote two PN electoral manifestos, the 2008 ans the 2013, where was he when he wrote them???

I totally disagree.
You have to be living here to " try" to make some judgements.
I am afraid Dr. Busuttil was not very positive during his campaign .He mentioned too many times the past, like all the others after all. And see what the PN got!! He was doing an excellent job in Brussels and that is where he belongs.

EPP should not interfere in local affairs. Everytime someone from Brussels or other european party speak, the people totally go against what these so called experts have to say. These are local issues. The EU should stick to economic issues and not interfer in local issues. We Maltese do not go around telling other countries how people should vote. If we do, then we shouldn't.

Mr Daul is trying to wrapper Busuttil as a product “European statesman in the making”. How can a statesman in the making being ignored by nearly 60% of the Maltese as a decadent wrapper in an expired product?. The answer is simple: discard.

Do not think that this is the appropriate time for lobbying Dr Bussutil should shoulder responsibility the same way Dr Gonzi did certain remarks made prior to elections did not help the same can be said of Dr Demarco who totally ignored comments by the business community in thr North

By writing his THIRD PN Electoral manifesto?
He wrote the GonziPN for the 2008 election , the last one and we now KNOW what are the results!
Dr. Busuttil has always been there for the PN since his time at MIC, so what's new?

Mr Daul is only telling us what we already know. Namely, that Simon would be great as PN leader.
