Wind and waves batter coast
The gale force westerly winds continued to roar today as waves battered the seashore.
The day was bitingly cold but there were pockets of sunshine in between the stretches of rain and hail.
The wind and weather conditions should improve tomorrow as an anticyclone over Algeria will move over to Libya.

MARSALFORN needs a breakwater
As a resident of Marsalforn I experience these problems on a yearly basis. After strong winds our streets are caked with layers of sand and my fellow residents and I are seen squeezing water out of our homes. Apart from that, the carnage left by the waves acts as a deterrent for any tourists who would like to visit Marsalforn during Autumn and Winter.

One thing for sure the no breakwater will stop the sea spray from reaching the valley since sea spray is wind borne

I think it's high time that a decent and proper breakwater is built in Marsalforn. Storms like this are causing irreparable damage both to the immediate buildings, and all other private properties. Not to mention the salt that is being sprayed inland reaching the fertile valley. Though I stand to be corrected about my last assertion.

You definitely stand to be corrected about your last assertion!!!!! Sea spray with winds this strong just covers the whole island from one side to the other!

Good for them - mother nature is fighting for it's rights !!
they shouldn't have built up there in the first place - now they enjoy the consequences : )
