Gunman admits injuring brother
A man who seriously injured his brother with an air gun was yesterday sentenced to seven months’ imprisonment suspended for two years.
Matthew Sciberras, 32, of St Paul’s Bay, admitted shooting at David Sciberras on Monday morning.
Mr Sciberras, who was born in the UK, admitted scarring his brother’s face and being in possession of an air gun without a police licence.
His brother was hit with a pellet in the forehead in Tourists Street, St Paul’s Bay.
Inspector Edmund Cuschieri said it was the defendant himself who filed a police report.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke also ordered the confiscation of his air gun and banned him from holding a weapon for two years.

I am really sorry for this tragic incident but if a magistrate found the guilty person he should shoulder responsibility and pay hospital expenses . It will change our mentality that everything is free .

The article describes things a little out of proportion. This type of pistol is an Air-soft gun, used all over the world for playful war games between youngsters, normally around 0.5-1.5 Jules. The problem here was that the aggressor purposely and stupidly shot at his brother's face while the victim was not wearing a face mask obligatory in this type of sport. To call him a gunman is misleading.
