Schreuder: FC Twente face a nervous wait to discover whether Alfred Schreuder will be allowed to continue as their interim coach. Schreuder took charge on a temporary basis following Steve McClaren’s departure last month and has overseen defeats to Ajax and Vitesse Arnhem. His lack of coaching qualifications prom-pted the Dutch Football Association to investigate and they will rule within the next week on whether he may remain in his post.

Miyaichi: Ryo Miyaichi’s hopes of becoming the first Japanese player to appear in an FA Cup final ended yesterday when Wigan boss Roberto Martinez said he expected the winger to miss the rest of the season. Miyaichi, 20, suffered an ankle injury after coming on as a substitute in Wigan’s 3-0 shock quarter-final win at Everton on Saturday which put the Premier League strugglers into the last four for the first time in their 81-year history.

Banned: Levski Sofia and Botev Plovdiv have been ordered to play their next home matches behind closed doors after hooliganism marred their league match on Saturday, the Bul-garian Football Union (BFU) announced yesterday. The BFU punishment will be in effect for Levski Sofia’s game against Litex Lovech in the Bulgarian Cup’s quarter-finals this evening and Botev Plovdiv’s league match against Cherno More Varna on April 6.

Rosicky: Captain Tomas Rosicky will return to the Czech Republic’s line-up for World Cup qualifiers against Denmark and Armenia this month and lead a squad who are almost at full strength after a catalogue of injuries. The Arsenal playmaker will make his first appearance in the qualifying campaign after Achilles and calf injuries. His return will be a boost for the Czech team, who have failed to score in two of three qualifying matches.
