Serie A topscorer Edinson Cavani missed a second-half penalty as fading Napoli lost 2-0 at Chievo today, while Juventus went nine points clear at the top thanks to a stoppage time win over Catania.

First half goals from Boukary Drame and Cyril Thereau sank second-placed Napoli with Cavani continuing his goal drought by having his penalty saved.

Juventus took advantage when substitute Emanuele Giaccherini snatched a last-gasp 1-0 win to leave them with 62 points from 28 games.

Victor Ibarbo scored a hat-trick to give Cagliari a 3-1 win over Sampdoria behind closed doors while Parma scored four goals in the last quarter of an hour to beat Torino 4-1.

Siena came from behind to win 2-1 at Palermo in a meeting of two teams mired in the relegation zone and Pescara's new coach Cristian Bucchi made a losing start as the bottom side lost 2-1 at Atalanta.
