An Allcare Insurance team ran the Land Rover Malta Marathon 2013 in aid of mental health awareness.

“Although proceeds from the marathon entries went to Inspire, we were keen to raise awareness and some extra funds for a cause we feel is often neglected,” said Simon Schembri, director, Corporate Service, at Allcare Insurance Ltd.

Dr Schembri and David Mallia, the company’s chief financial officer, ran the full marathon, while group head Ramon Mizzi was joined by Anton Grech, chairman of Mental Health Services in the Half Marathon.

While each team member carried out fundraising on their own steam, Allcare Insurance Ltd then matched the amount raised to double the total sum collected in aid of this worthy cause. The Malta Marathon received over 3,000 entries this year, yet again another record over last year’s 2,500 participants.
