The Maltese have sent a clear message this election, giving the Labour Party a massive victory.

Initial results show the PL has gained a majority of 55%, or 36,000 votes.

93 per cent of Malta's electorate cast their vote yesterday - a slight 0.3 per cent decrease from 2008's figure, but still one of the highest electoral turn-outs within the western world.
