A memorandum of understanding was recently signed between the University of Malta and the Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá, Colombia, to promote collaborative research and the exchange of students and staff between the two universities.

As a result of the agreement, Joseph Buhagiar, a lecturer at the University’s Faculty of Engineering, will be giving lectures on biomaterials at the Columbian university.

Following the signing of the memorandum the Consul General of Colombia in Rome, María Mercedes Carrasquilla Barrera, visited Malta to meet the dean of the faculty John Betts, academic members of staff, undergraduate students and researchers, as well as to tour the laboratories of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering.
