Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken is to partner the Scandinavian Business Forum Malta’s online efforts this year as part of its initiatives to increase its activity on the island, according to SBFM chairman Mark Fenech.
SEB Bank is witnessing increased interest by Scandinavians wishing to move here, particularly as Malta grows in popularity among Nordic entrepreneurs examining the potential of the local business-friendly environment, Dr Fenech said.
The forum was established in 2010 under the auspices of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry with a mission to raise awareness of business potential in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden among local business people.
“The Luxembourg branch of SEB contacted the Malta Chamber which, in turn, introduced SEB to SBFM,” Dr Fenech told The Sunday Times. “Towards the end of last year, SBFM was instrumental in introducing SEB to the Minister of Finance while SBFM members participated in a seminar held here by SEB for the local Swedish community.
“SEB reciprocated SBFM’s assistance by accepting to act as one of the official sponsors of the SBFM website.”
Dr Fenech added that SEB believes it can contribute and support these entrepreneurs by offering tailored financial solutions and SBFM has promised to facilitate access to existing and potential business networks.
SEB views SBFM as a catalyst towards the further expansion of business opportunities in Malta.
SEB offers tailored financial solutions and personal guidance for customers with international financial needs. Its clients receive private banking services by a team of experts, from portfolio management and advice to legal counseling.
Apart from continuing to assist SEB in its efforts to increase its activity in the Maltese wealth management market, the forum intends to use this relationship as a springboard to introduce and further promote Malta’s financial and maritime services in the Scandinavian market.
