Following the success of last year’s first edition, the 2013 edition of Rock the South, staged by No Sweat, Raw Events and Zion, is back with another two days packed to the brim with a selection of local and foreign bands collectively presenting a variety of alternative sounds.

The event will again be held at Zion in Marsascala on April 5 and 6.

The full line-up features a total of 16 acts on two stages, most of them on the main stage, with the rest performing on the acoustic stage which, along with a chill-out area, is being introduced this year. The line-up includes Italian trio AIM, who truly rocked the place last year, as well as French indie rock duo Côme.

The list of local bands includes Dripht, Three Stops to China, The Shh, Cable35, No Snow/No Alps, Dolls for Idols, For Strings Inn, Five Years from Now, Duo Kukkanja, Alex Alden, Harriet Cohen, Elevator Music, String Junky, and a special performance with live band from hip-hop act Sempliċment tat-Triq.

DJs Davide Zane and Michael Bugeja will be slipping in tunes in between bands and to close the event.

Day tickets cost €9 each (€15 for both nights). For more information, join www.facebook.com/rockthesouthmalta or e-mail rockthesouthmalta@gmail.com.
