The political leaders voted within an hour of each other this morning.

Labour leader Joseph Muscat voted at Burmarrad school at 9a.m. and Dr Gonzi at Marsascala school.

Dr Muscat walked to the school with his wife Michelle and was greeted by the Chief Electoral Commissioner.

A small crowd of supporters applauded outside.

The same happened at Marsascala, where Dr Gonzi was accompanied by his wife and son Paul.

President George Abela also voted at Marsascala school, shortly after 11 a.m.
