The votes of the many who have not yet decided who to vote for will be crucial in next Saturday’s election, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said this evening during an interview on Radio 10, adding that they should vote in the interest of their family’s future.

Dr Gonzi described the past nine weeks of the electoral campaign as a positive experience in which the electorate had the possibility of hearing and analysing what the parties were offering.

Targeting mainly the undecided voters, Dr Gonzi said they should vote primarily in the interest of their country.

“I am confident that those who are still undecided will finally choose PN as it is the party which can truly guarantee a safe and sound future. We have delivered and transformed this country even though we may have neglected some who had genuine personal problems,” he said.

“Next Saturday make sure that the country continues on the right direction. If we don’t, Malta will join other countries with massive economic problems where personal problems may become much bigger and much more difficult to solve,” he said.

Dr Gonzi said that every time Labour was in power Malta experienced unprecedented economic recession and record unemployment.

“This country deserves better. You may not like what we’ve done, and we’ve done many mistakes, but we have managed to push this country forward,” Dr Gonzi said.

“Labour is a risk which this country doesn’t afford,” he said.
