Let me get one thing straight. This election campaign has had its lows, its even lower lows and now the Labour Party agreement with the hunters is surely the depths of the pits.

The environment is already rather on the precarious side, our reputation abroad rather discoloured and now this? Malta tagħna lkoll will definitely not be that if the hunting lobby have it their way. The countryside will be their fiefdom. If this is Labour and Joseph Muscat before they’re in power then I do not know what to expect once they are in the driving seat.

Why oh why I ask? If Labour is so sure of victory, if the gap is so wide no miracle can bridge it, then what’s with this agreement with people who have consistently fouled our reputation and our environment?

Let us now hear the big champions of the environment—the Greens, AD—damn Labour not just by silly words and press releases but by declaring that they will not join the LP in any coalition. How can hunters and AD be seen together? Or is it the usual mantra: as long as we are in we will join hands even with the worst of demons?
If I believed for a second that AD is not in league and cahoots with Labour then I’d expect them to tell their supporters not to vote Labour. And ideally they would go one step further to make sure Labour does not get in: AD should ask their supporters to make a supreme sacrifice and give their number one vote to PN, before carrying on to tick off the AD candidates. That would be the sane way out of keeping labour out and stopping the unleashing of the hunters on this country. It’s been a tough tussle to get some sense into our powers to stop mindless hunting. Now that the hunters have a pact with labour, God save us from them and anyone who backs them for their silly vote.

There is still time to keep the hunting lobby at bay: do not vote LP or AD. Ironically, both will help the hunters.
