Retired soldiers have welcomed a Labour pledge to adjust their pensions by two-thirds of the yearly increments soldiers are entitled to.

The Association for Retired Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Malta lamented that only the PL had accepted an invitation to meet them.

The association was set up in November 2012 to improve the conditions of former servicemen that have not been reviewed for 42 years.

“We deem it necessary that certain anomalies that have been left pending for all these years should be given immediate attention,” the association said.
