Thousands of people have not yet collected their voting document and many others, including first time voters are still unsure about who to vote.

These people should think carefully about their future, and whether they would have a job once the election is over, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said this evening.

Speaking at a political activity in Rabat, Dr Gonzi said his government, though not perfect, had worked hard to create jobs and the PN’s commitment was to create another 25,000 in the next five years.

The 20,000 jobs his government created in this legislature, Dr Gonzi said, were not in government departments.

The Nationalist government had also closed down the shipyards which had been eating up €35 million a year. Labour would have kept them open.

The Prime Minister also spoke on his government’s successes in education and tourism and reiterated his promise that stipends would be retained.
