Hospital in St Julian’s evacuated
Zammit Clapp Hospital in St Julian’s was evacuated of patients and staff after a fire broke out in the laundry room, yesterday.
Health Minister Joseph Cassar and Parliamentary Secretary for the Elderly Mario Galea assisted during the precautionary evacuation.
No one was hurt and the fire did not spread beyond the laundry area, a spokesman for the secretariat said.
Civil Protection Department personnel extinguished the blaze.
