Enthusistic welcome for Joseph Muscat in Hamrun. Video: Jason Borg
Labour leader Joseph Muscat was given a rapturous welcome when he toured shops in St Joseph High Street, Hamrun.
A big crowd turned up for the event singing Labour Party songs.
The street had to be closed for traffic.

X'naqra ta' middle class people dawk?!?! And he keeps harping on wanting to create a new middle class - as if being middle class is a switch on - switch off activity!!! Being middle class is a mentality, a mode of behaviour - it is not a solely economic affair.

In 1996 labour had a decent leader. Now they have a powerhouse.

People who say a change is needed simply because Labour has been sitting on the opposition benches for almost 25 yrs would do well to realise that in Sweden the Socialists were in power for almost 4 decades. They shld also realise that when there was a change of govt in 1996, it wasn't for the better. And in 1996, Labour had a decent leader who had sidelined the hardliners who are back in the fold

The Maltese are great for joining in.
I hope I never get caught up in a lynch mob.

My opinion is that after all these years with the same government Malta needs a change otherwise we are already becoming a dictartorship country. We should not see blu or red only but we should face reality

we should realise that we are one of the eu countries which was not hit by massive unemployment but had massive investment in education, healthcare, tourism & all infrastructure(roads, parks, restoration projects). We can opt for a govt which will reduce tariffs at any cost (no power station will be built conrad disappeared) & wrec havoc on financesi.e.high unemployment, lower standard of living

The Nationalist Party got elected democratically for doing a fine job with the means they had. A dictatorship is very different. Go to Cuba or China and have a look!!

Mr Muscat, why you remain silent about the so called competition of the domestic gas distribution ? Is the price of cylinders reflecting a competitive environment ?
It is understood, that someone around you may have interests !!!!!
The same applies to Gonzi !!!!!!!!
