The parents of a two-year-old girl who died in Mater Dei Hospital two years ago have filed a judicial protest complaining that despite the announcement of an internal inquiry, they had not been notified of proceedings and had not been asked to give their testimony, despite its relevance to the case.

Seven doctors are undergoing court proceedings for alleged malpractice following he death of young Aimee Abela from meningitis, which was not diagnosed on time.

The parents also complained that the doctors, who included a head of department, were also being allowed to continue their work as if nothing had happened.
